Granted some of the ingredients aren’t exactly ‘Basic’ per se, like Hoisin sauce whose existence I learned about when I first did this recipe, but then again using them here will be a great introduction to them and maybe inspire you to spruce up other recipes with them. Otherwise those oils and sauces can usually be kept up to 2 years in the fridge. Also herbs and spices don’t have to be fresh, dried or powdered ones can do just fine.
